Admittedly, I do seem to be on somewhat of a depressive story line arch lately with these Trifectca Writing Challenges. I promise it’s not nearly as bad as it may seem.
Now, with the prompt being the 5 words that follow the 33, here’s this week’s effort…
The pain ebbs, a fat cat dozing after She’s realized her fill.
Breath seeps.
Light pales.
Wait…
It’s over?
“Ah, but wasn’t it you who said you wanted to Sleep?”
Maybe…
Yes.
But,
That wasn’t what I meant.

OMG Troy! This is so wildly beautiful and incredible and so damn good. Amazing!! And that song….chills.
Valerie, I think I love you… =)
This is heart-stopping. IN a good way. Thanks for sharing!
I’m glad you liked it, in a good way =)
This has such a soothing, lulling quality, which I was jolted out of with the last line. Lovely.
Thank you Sarah – I’m glad to hear that it had the intended affect!
You are trying to take me in there with you but I am not going. Not. Nope. No way…
Never do, my dear, never do!
that song is haunting….
send me to sleep…too much to do….no sleep yet
Good Sini, good – stay awake!
Love the fat cat reference.
Thank you Melissa =)
There’s sleep and there’s sleep. :) I haven’t heard that song in years – thanks for bringing it back to mind.
One of my all-time faves. For both good AND bad reasons.
I was being lulled till you snapped me attention at the end. I love the aura of this piece.
Thank you so much Renada – the idea that I nailed that sleepy-head/end is nigh cadence means a lot!
Lovely but sad. Of course, when our time comes, hopefully after a long, happy life, a peaceful end is what we would all desire.
I’d much rather focus on the happy (Joyful) than the long, right?
